This state spotlight highlights Alaska’s 6|18 Initiative accomplishments in leveraging their Medicaid-public health partnership to promote measures for hypertension control, such as extending the refill period for medications; expanding a community health worker program and access to blood pressure monitors to support hypertension control in rural communities; and allowing pharmacists to bill for hypertension related counseling and medication management therapy.
