This webinar, made possible by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for the states participating in the 6|18 Initiative, provided information on how the 6|18 Medicaid and Public Health teams can design evaluation strategies to measure the impact of their 6|18 interventions. The webinar included information on: (1) expectations for active Medicaid and Public Health engagement in evaluating the 6|18 Initiative’s impact; (2) a description of CDC’s Evaluation Wheel and early effectiveness evaluation approach; (3) a brief synopsis of the Medicaid Adult and Child Core Measure Sets and quality reporting activities; and  (4) a description of the methodology and results of a CDC analysis of CMS quality measure sets.

Dr. Young described the Medicaid-focused 6|18 Initiative’s evaluation efforts, providing an overview of the Evaluation Wheel and the early effectiveness evaluation.

III. Opportunities for Leveraging Medicaid Quality Measurement

Speakers: Karen Matsuoka, CMS and Christa Singleton, CDC
Dr. Matsuoka briefly described the Medicaid Adult and Child Core Measure Sets and Medicaid quality reporting activities. Dr. Singleton highlights CDC’s analysis of CMS quality measure sets and describes alignment with 6|18 interventions.
